Pratham Activities and Fund Utilisation

In 2006-07, PrathamUK contributed £430,000 to finance educational initiatives being run by Pratham trusts and programs. The funding supported existing initiatives underway in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

We also provided seed funding from the £300,000 received from the Merrill Lynch Charity of the Year programme for the rural, block-catalytic work in Uttar Pradesh & Bihar and we will continue this support for a further two years.

Additionally PrathamUK assisted with the Niramaya Health initiative, the Annual State of Education Report (ASER) conducted by Pratham, and the PicTalk as a tool for teaching English at schools.
