75 energetic volunteers of Pratham UK participated in this year British 10km London Run, raising over 13,500 through sponsorship. Pratham UK helps to raise funds for Pratham, Indias largest NGO, that is dedicated to teaching underprivileged children in India essential reading and writing, as well as basic arithmetic. The official British 10km London Run took place on Sunday 12th July. The event attracts runners from across the world, all walks of life and every level of running ability, including professional athletes. This year, a total of 27,000 runners took part in the national event to raise awareness and funds for their chosen charities. Read more

Almost 1000 guests came out to support the No Frills Pratham Party on Saturday evening, the 15th of November, at Old Billingsgate Market. The party was put together in 3 weeks after it was decided that the annual gala, which was scheduled for the same day, would be postponed until the spring due to the current financial crisis. Vilas Gadkari, chairman of Pratham UK remarked, "We are delighted that so many continue to support education for disadvantaged youth despite the tough economic conditions. We had people travel from as far off as Hong Kong and New York to support Pratham's event."
